Daniel James Scott sparks visionaries to become revolutionary catalysts.

Daniel is an award-winning community-builder, celebrated entrepreneur and the bestselling co-author of Building the Ultimate Business PlanThe Startup Student and Confessions From An Entrepreneur Vol 2: How to be a Successful College Entrepreneur. He currently serves as a partner with Alorum, a twelve-year-old consultancy that has spun off and sold two distinct new ventures; technology expert for iHeartMedia's AM Tampa Bay on NewsRadio WFLA; business faculty at St. Petersburg College, one of Florida's largest academic institutions; and on dozens of advisory boards for programs around the greater Tampa Bay area.

Previously, Daniel led strategic turnarounds of the Tampa Bay Tech council (formerly known as the Tampa Bay Technology Forum), RNG Tampa Bay (the nation's first in-house, corporate recruiters group) and the Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research (the world's largest nonprofit eye bank and ocular research center).

At Tampa Bay Tech, Daniel’s leadership, as the organization's longest-serving Executive Director, brought the organization back from the brink of insolvency to year-over-year profitability growth, supporting a membership that employs over two million, generates more than five hundred billion in annual revenue and carries over two trillion in market cap. As a result of this work, Daniel and the entire board of directors were named the inaugural Tampa Bay Business Journal “Outstanding Small Nonprofit Board of Directors.”

At RNG Tampa Bay, Daniel led the organization's formalization as a Florida headquartered 501(c)6, established partnerships with numerous community development organizations and regionally-headquartered corporations and developed membership value that built a membership base of hundreds in its inaugural year as a nonprofit.

At the Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research, Daniel was instrumental in returning the organization to profitability, increasing the asset base by a third, cutting A/R in half while doubling revenue, and closing two acquisitions propelling global expansion. As a result of this work, the organization was a 2018 Tampa Bay Business Journal One Tampa Bay Nonprofit Honoree and the organization’s Director of Administration and Finance was named a finalist for Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2018 CFO of the Year.

Daniel also co-founded Gazelle Lab (Florida’s first seed-stage fund under the Techstars banner), the undergraduate Entrepreneurship & Global Business majors at the University of South Florida (a preeminent research university located in the heart of Tampa Bay) and three successfully-exited businesses. His work establishing the State University System of Florida’s first Entrepreneurship undergraduate major earned the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s “Outstanding Emerging Entrepreneurship Program” award and the Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s “Educator of the Year” award.

Scott’s work has been featured in such publications as Business Insider, CNBC, CNET, Entrepreneur Magazine, Huffington Post, GeekWire, Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal. The American City Business Journals explain "an accomplished entrepreneur, Scott has become one of the Tampa Bay area's go-to leaders in the tech industry." "The serial entrepreneur," notes Florida Trend magazine "is raising the profile of the region as a tech hub." TechCrunch reports that “entrepreneur and author Daniel James Scott” is “getting Tampa Bay’s name on the map.” However, the St. Pete Catalyst sums it up best: "To call Daniel James Scott an influencer is something of an understatement."

Scott was named the US Small Business Administration’s 50th Anniversary State of Florida “Business Advocate of the Year,” one of Tampa Bay Times “10 Who make Tampa Bay Area’s Economic Outlook Brighter” and one of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “Power 100.”

Scott, who’s relations include fellow visionary revolutionists King Charlemagne (who ushered in the Carolingian Renaissance), Myles Standish (commander of the Plymouth Colony), Walt Disney (pioneer of the American animation industry) and Brian Wilson (co-author of more than two-dozen Top 40 hits), maintains residence in Tampa Bay with his closest relations, his wife and their twins.
